How this programs works on windows 10 ? Apparently not works... #937

Hello! I hear the frustration in your inquiry and will make a couple of
suggestions that may or may not be useful. I am an experienced Windows
user of JACK2 for more than 15 years, and below are two of the key fixes
I have found:
1. Install the 32-bit version of JACK2 and move it to the folder with
the 64-bit version. For some reason, there are some files Windows needs
that are missing from the 64-bit version.
2. If you want to run more than one program with JACK at the same time,
go deep into the Windows Sound Control Panel for each device you want to
use and disable "Exclusive Mode." This will allow JACK to run at the
same time as other programs you want to run at the same time. A rough
screenshot of how several of the windows look is attached. For more
details, please see my post #779 for details.

Please let me know if this helps you.
p.s. with more specific details you "might" get additional replies
Good luck!

this is a long reply which might or might not help you or be useful to anyone. This is about my personal experience and I have spent many many hours wrangling JACK, JACK2 and the GUI qjackctl with great success and satisfaction. They are great programs that sometimes have quirks to overcome. Many thanks to the developers. Right, disable Exclusive Mode in the Windows sound control panel for each device you want to use for more than one app at the same time. Say you want to use a digital interface for Ableton and JACK concurrently, disable Exclusive Mode for the playback (output) tab and the recording (input) tab. Do that for each device you want to use for more than one app concurrently. Each device has its own input and output settings. For my 64+32-bit combo install I probably already had the 64 then did 32. The 64-bit installs JACK2 in the Program Files folder, and the 32-bit will install in the Program Files (x86) folder. I compared the files in each folder and I think it was the Lib32 folder that includes libjack.dll from the 32-bit that I copied to the 64-bit folder. One thing to consider and explore is on Windows sometimes the uninstall does not remove all the files. I know this because after uninstalling, the same settings from before uninstall were the same after reinstalling. They should be ‘default’. Then I uninstalled again and searched the Windows Registry and found that there were in fact still JACK2 files there after uninstalling. Then I manually removed JACK2 files from the Registry, reinstalled and got a clean install with default settings. You can do an uninstall and simply search the Registry to see if any JACK2 files are still there, especially jackd and qjackctl. Qjackctl is the wonderful GUI controller for JACK. It is a separate program that comes with the JACK install. Without qjackctl we would have to run JACK from the command line!Disclaimer and Warning: ⛔️
