@panta do we "lose" the cryptographic data integrity feature by encapsulating the data in the milliways db? Please let us know.

of course not! Within multiverse, milliways act simply and only as a container for git objects, nothing more and nothing less. But the git objects are the same as they were on disk with the classic file system backend.

If you want to make sure: modify in one bit in a non-structural part of the file. If you can still read it, then there is a problem. But I agree with Marco, it won't read. But if you want to be scientific about it: try the modified bit :)
