Is your feature request related to a problem?

Multi-day events are displayed as solid colored blocks in the calendar. The color of the block is used to identify which item of the legend an event corresponds to. On the other hand, single-day events are displayed as a colored dot followed by text over white background. When the calendar legend contains many items and, thus, many colors too, it is difficult to visually identify which single-day events correspond to which item, as the colored dot is lost in a see of solid colored blocks.

Describe the solution you'd like

I propose to accent the color of single-day events in the calendar view by displaying them as solid colored blocks like the multi-day events.

The main drawback that I see with this solution is that single-day events will be very difficult to distinguish from multi-day events, which is something that may actually be desirable. Notice in the screenshot below how easily it is to tell apart single-day events from multi-day events.

Describe alternatives you've considered

An alternative solution would be to display the entire text of single-day events with the color associated to their item in the calendar legend. The drawback that I see with this solution is that some colors may render the text pretty difficult to read over the white background (e.g. yellow). If the color palette could be fine-tuned so that it always looks good over white background, this would be my ideal solution.
