Problem

After processing finishes, InaSAFE adds its output layers to the QGIS canvas. These layers seems to slow down QGIS a lot, even just clicking somewhere or panning stalls the software and a user needs to wait up to a few minutes. When these layers are removed from the QGIS canvas, all is fine again. Even for small layers with few features this is an issue, and it only happens with the outputs from InaSAFE.

Suggestion:

  • Permanently save layers as apposed to temp layers

Expected Behaviour

QGIS should not be stalled by these output layers.

Environment

  • InaSAFE : 5.0.5
  • QGIS : All versions
  • OS : Windows/Linux
  • Data used :
    • Exposure : Yes
    • Hazard : Yes
    • Aggregation : Yes
    • Extent : ?

Checklist:

  • Did you try to run it in debug mode ?
  • Is the data available ?
    • If yes, where (BTSync, data.inasafe.org, zip) ?
