Corrupt (missing) menu item [OER2Go / RACHEL module "en-TED"]

I had an issue installing a large package and the menu now has an item I can't remove. It just shows "Attempting to load en-TED" in admin and "en-TED - file not found or improperly formatted" on the main web page. I've tried removing it an reinstalling it and it stays there.

How do I clean it out?

How did a menu item named en-TED get into the menu? Did you try to add it manually or was it magically added during the package install.

There are some en-ted menu definitions, but nothing en-TED.

You were installing a 'large package'. What is the name of the package; was it a zim?

I installed it from "Install OER2Go Modules" TED Talks. It showed up after the install.

(Just as an aside, the page http://oer2go.org leads to http://oer2go.org/viewmod/en-ted_ed_2021 which does not load, so it's hard to get immediate details on this particular RACHEL module!)

Here is what I think is the resolution. The menu definition file en-TED.json does not exist even though it was added to the home menu. I don't understand how this happened, but I have modified the option in Admin Console Content Menus -> Update Home Menu so that it will remove any menu item that does not exist.

@bernardroth you have actually surfaced a number of bugs here. In addition to this problem the en-TED module should not have been able to be downloaded as we prefer the zim version of TED talks. The ability to do so has also been removed. I hope this is not a problem as you were unable to download it anyway.

The obtain these fixes you will need to refresh the iiab-admin-console menu and run the install again.

I ran these but it didn't remove the missing item.

Admin Console > Content Menus > Clicked "Update Home Menu"

that is the simplest if you don't want en-TED.

Otherwise you could create /library/www/html/js-menu/menu-files/menu-defs/en-TED.json with the contents that @holta provided above.

There should have been two items in Admin Console Utilities -> Display Job Status that referenced en-TED

One something like usr/bin/rsync -Pavz --size-only rsync://dev.worldpossible.org/rachelmods/en-TED /library/working/rachel/
The other scripts/oer2go_install_step2.py en-TED

I'm expecting to see the first as FAILED
and the second as CANCELLED

Unfortunately the job listing is empty from the time I installed it last year. I reinstalled IIAB over it a few times since then.
