Currently, it can only be done using PPSSPP builds that support infrastructure multiplayer available here #14256 (comment)

And, the game also need to have LAN multiplayer mode, otherwise you can only play on private servers like https://psrewired.com/

I asked this because I tried to play the Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars multiplayer more than 15 times without success.

I followed the official tutorial, nothing.

You could treat the private server as LAN.

If you're using Windows version, check the Log console from Debug menu and see whether you're seeing any red Error [E] messages in the logs.

Also, provides the settings you're using/changing from it's default value.

First of all, the one that use Friend Rooster are not supported on official PPSSPP version, because it use infrastructure mode.

Meanwhile, the Host Game & Join Game menu uses AdHoc, which should've worked if you followed the guide at https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/wiki/How-to-play-multiplayer-games-with-PPSSPP
Just need to make sure you don't have blocked ports.

Tested on multiple instances:

@anr2me I will use ZeroTier to connect with my friends, I think I have blocked ports and my router don't allow me to open them.
