I reset my phone but I cannot find the app to the play store in order to re-install it. Is it a problem with my device or a general one? Can I find it somewhere else?

Same problem. New phone, Materialistic is gone from Google Play. Was the best HN app.
If someone has the current Materialistic APK, that would be most helpful!
EDIT: Can get APK from here: https://github.com/hidroh/materialistic/releases

@flotteur how do I install it from my Android phone? is there some way to do it automatically without rooting it?

I'd suggest using the f-droid repository.

Or you can download the APK from https://github.com/hidroh/materialistic/releases (materialistic-79.apk) directly from your Android device, and the install it via your Android built in file manager. You'll have to allow non-store APKs in your settings, but that will install it properly.

There really isn't much of a way to verify the APK is built from the source shown here and doesn't have any malicious code in it - do we know why it isn't on Google Play anymore? Besides reviewing and cloning the repo and just building your own from it, seems a bit risky. I've really loved using this app and am definitely not trying to imply that it has issues, just that we don't really know. (FWIW, I did poke at the v79 APK, and run it through a scan (virustotal). It looked fine there, so I have personally installed it. I would recommend others do their own due diligence.
