Chromecast 2 : No sound with mkv/avi

I have a chromecast 2.

When I try the demo code to run big buck bunny it's working fine (image + sound).

But when I try other links with mkv or api I have the image but I do not have any sound.

Am I missing something ?

You might want to check the audio codec of your video. Most of the time, it needs some transcoding.

There are some issues with the DTS audio codec (just google for it); also you might encounter similar issues with AAC audio codec (I do).

WebM with VP8 (video) and Vorbis (audio) works fine; MKV with your video and MP3 (audio) works fine, too.
