Edit an existing message?

I'm struggling to make sense of the docs as there's not much to go on... if I have the ID of a group and a message my bot has posted (say by getting the ids from the link to the message), is it possibe to edit the message contents using gramjs?

My test script connects fine and can send me a message, so next as a proof of concept I have been using GetMessages but always get MessageEmpty back whatver IDs I use for an existing message/channel.
