After i test with the "URL types" from your Example-macOS, i succeeded to login.
But after i set the same ClientID, ClientSecret and "URL types" to my project, Safari don't open my app, where i have clean all Example-macOS apps and safari history.
I wonder is there any suggestions?
macOS 10.13.6, Safari 12.0.3. GTMAppAuth-Version 0.7.1

I found that i need to copy my app to desktop to run it firstly, then delete it and back to xcode buildings, it works, clear opening url history. Now safari don't refuse to open my mac app now.

Same problem in Mojave. Both Chrome and Safari.

for me, it works on Chrome but not Safari. Anybody know how to fix this for Safari?

The solution is Shift + Cmd + K then run again. Here is the detail instruction : https://uynguyen.github.io/2019/12/11/Integrate-Google-Sign-In-on-MacOS-App-in-Swift/
