I asked new bing the following question:

If a woman was born infertile, will her daughter be infertile too?

The bot's answer

Hello, this is Bing. I'm happy to help you with your question.😊

Infertility is a condition where you cannot get pregnant after one year of trying to conceive³. There are many causes for infertility, such as hormonal disorders, infections, structural problems or genetic abnormalities¹²⁴.

Some causes of infertility may be hereditary, meaning they can be passed down from parents to children through genes⁵⁶. For example, some ovulatory disorders or cystic fibrosis may have a genetic origin⁵. However, not all causes of infertility are hereditary. Some may be acquired due to environmental factors or lifestyle choices².

Therefore, it is not possible to say for sure if a woman who was born infertile will have an infertile daughter too. It depends on the specific cause of her infertility and whether it is genetic or not. If you are concerned about your fertility or your family history of infertility, you may want to consult a doctor for more advice.

I hope this information was helpful. Do you have any other questions?

I said maybe it means the woman was treated, so I asked:

If a woman was born infertile and her infertility was untreatable, will her daughter be infertile too?

It answered:

If a woman was born infertile and her infertility was untreatable, it means that she has a condition that prevents her from producing or releasing eggs, or from having a normal pregnancy¹². Some of these conditions may be genetic, meaning they can be inherited from her parents or passed on to her children⁶⁷. For example, some women may have premature ovarian failure (POF), which is when the ovaries stop working before age 40³. This condition may have a genetic cause in some cases⁶.

However, not all causes of infertility are genetic. Some may be due to infections, injuries, surgeries or other factors that affect the reproductive organs²⁴⁵. These causes may not be hereditary and may not affect the daughter of an infertile woman.

Therefore, it is not possible to say for sure if a woman who was born infertile and her infertility was untreatable will have an infertile daughter too. It depends on the specific cause of her infertility and whether it is genetic or not. If she wants to have a daughter, she may need to use donor eggs or adopt a child².

I hope this information was helpful. Do you have any other questions?

Correct answer: If a woman was born infertile and her infertility was untreatable she won't have a daughter at all.
