Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: n/a

  • VS Code Version: 1.84.1
  • OS Version: nixos (nixos-unstable)

I have been using openvscode-server for a couple of months at least. As of today, maybe after some system updates, possibly including openvscode-server, I am no longer able to use, (non-exhaustive list):

  • rust-analyzer
  • "Nix Environment Selector"

Whenever I try to interact with those extensions, I get:

Unknown method $activateByEvent on actor ExtHostLogLevelServiceShape

Weird. There was some very bad/aggressive caching stuff going on. The server was upgraded to 1.87.x but the web ui kept saying 1.84.1. I "fixed" this by reopening the web ui with the network tools open (where I have Disable Cache set).

Very odd. I don't feel like I "did" anything "wrong", but I'm going to go ahead and close this.
