Problems with Artifact Bundles using @sentry/nextjs

According to the troubleshooting guide for source maps it is required that you are using a version of @sentry/webpack-plugin package version that is > 1.x.

Since the latest version of @sentry/nextjs is still using an old version of this plugin does that mean we can no longer just depend on nextjs automatically uploading source maps in the new method as is indicated in the nextjs guide and instead have to fall back to using the sentry-cli? Why is @sentry/nextjs using such an old version of webpack?

Hey, the docs are super confusing at the moment because we recently updated the source map process and didn't fully streamline the process in the docs yet. In general you shouldn't have to worry at all about the sentry webpack plugin when using the Next.js SDK on the newest version except for the org, project and authToken values. Do you have any issues there?

@haerim95 Please turn off the silent option in next.config.js if you have it set and look at the logs. Is there something telling you why sourcemaps weren't uploaded?

When I changed silent option from true to false, I realized that the
yarn build yarn start still tracks the source map.

The logs are very noisy and we don't want to annoy people. In the future they will default to !process.env.CI

Thanks for letting me know, I'd like to know why artifacts are not generated when silent is set to true, but I can't figure it out because when silent is set to false, the source map is uploaded normally 🥲.

After deployment, I read a message about a source map and there was a token issue. I didn't enter the token correctly.

Thank you for reminding me to set slient to false and check the message, otherwise it would have taken longer to resolve.. 😭 have a nice day.
