Just a thought on this page, an additional reason to not get an early diagnosis would be that it then becomes a pre-existing condition which would mean it's excluded from any PMIs that aren't medical history disregarded. Don't think that's currently helpful in the UK but given a few more years of the high end corporate ones providing gender cover maybe
