Hi
I had an idea for FreeRouting. On my board projects which tend to be large and full of DIP & PLCC type chips, it is very difficult to see the cursor indicating where the trace route optimization is happening. Not the mouse cursor, but the cursor that FreeRouting places on the current optimization point. It is a tiny circle with an X through it.
On large boards, it is a bit like playing "where's waldo" trying to find the current location at times. It is so tiny that it gets lost in the traces and is difficult to see or find. I suggest at least doubling the size of the cursor or using a different color with thicker stroke widths.
I don't think it needs to flash although that would help quite a bit. Maybe rotate colors through the rainbow so it gives some illusion of motion so my eye can catch it easier.
Thought this might be useful as I am probably not the only one with old, tired eye sight...
