Thanks for your question.
You are right, it's not needed. I'm going to be releasing version 0.4.1 soon and I'll remove the unnecessary providers from the core bundle, these fields are really used as a minimal html fields. If you are using your own components then you can implement this however you want as long as you follow the pattern in the documentation https://github.com/formql/formql/wiki/Creating-custom-components#example, I'll amend that to show more examples around providers
