Enhancment : Playlist/folder mode / Adds and epg integration.

Hello enhancment suggestion.

1. Possibility to add short video clips after main clip or clips are played (multiple ads) in folder and playlist mode.

2. Possibility to add adds inside of the video clip . So that the video stops playing and a certain number of adds are played,and then resumes with the main video clip where it stoped

3. Add option to auto generate xmltv file for all saved playlist for x days . So that epg is avalible for the channel.

I would bf very interested in donating if this would be possible.

This is more a case of TV scheduling, not so much about streaming.

In the past, I have resisted offering something like this because the needs here can be very specific. For example, we run a Christian TV station and for that I have programmed a scheduling software with a lot of effort. Since our program is very much designed for the Christian TV sector, the scheduler cannot be easily transferred to general TV.

Originally, ffplayout was only meant to play an existing playlist, then the frontend was added, which was supposed to make the configuration easier, and to change something in the playlist if necessary. Actually, this was never intended to plan a 24/7 TV. In-house solutions are better suited for this.

If you have such a tool, you can implement all three points that you mentioned. Even inserting a commercial break in a program is no problem. In the playlist, technically speaking, the OUT point of a clip would be set, then comes the commercial, and then again the same clip with the correct IN point.

To wait for donations for this would not be enough, because this would surely take half a year to a year of development time. And then there is also the maintenance. If I would work full time on ffplayout, that would be something else.

We can think on a randomizes option for the folder mode, to add sometimes ads, but for the playlist I would like to let this part to the user.

Adds randomizer for the folder mode would be awesome if you find the time for implementation.
