Hi and thanks for making Adrilight, i use it a lot for gaming and i've tested all Ambilight-like software and yours is the most stable and easier to use so again thanks !

I noticed several points in games that can be useful to all players who use Adrilight, if you want to add them in the wiki it's with great pleasure:

  • The limit of 30 FPS is more than enough in game, above that it's indistinguishable. The interest of not going higher is a non negligible performance gain in game (I did the test on the AC Odyssey benchmark (+6 FPS) and on 3DMark (+150 Pts).

  • The correct zone width setting is 10 so that all colors in play are well detected.

  • Full screen or fullscreen borderless mode doesn't change anything in terms of performance.

That's all about the few advices I can provide and that will surely save a lot of time for those who play like me and who are looking for the best performance and quality. I remain at the disposal of those who would like more details or a demo video.

Concerning the "issue" part, I noticed that once the game is launched it's a bit like a lottery, either the system starts well and everything is perfect, or it's buggy and there is a big delay in the leds color display and in the case where everything starts well the windows returns (alt+tab) can make Adrilight buggy and then the leds have delay again.

I noticed while playing Star Wars Fallen Order, that by changing the game resolution (in full screen mode) from 3440x1440 to another resolution and returning to 3440p Adrilight crashes and that by restarting it by hand everything becomes perfect! It's fluid.

After this crash I can then launch any other game and everything is fluid as if it finally has the right resolution in memory and send everything correctly to the led.

I've checked the logs and it seems that it's from the moment this error appears that everything is perfect for gaming:

--- Changing resolution, adrilight crash, restarting manually, incredible performance logs ---

a adrilight.DesktopDuplication.DesktopDuplicator.RetrieveFrame()
a adrilight.DesktopDuplication.DesktopDuplicator.GetLatestFrame(Bitmap reusableImage)
a adrilight.DesktopDuplicatorReader.GetNextFrame(Bitmap reusableBitmap)
2020-04-09 13:25:37.6831 ERROR adrilight.DesktopDuplicatorReader GetNextFrame() failed. adrilight.DesktopDuplication.DesktopDuplicationException: Failed to acquire next frame. ---> SharpDX.SharpDXException: HRESULT: [0x887A0026], Module: [SharpDX.DXGI], ApiCode: [DXGI_ERROR_ACCESS_LOST/AccessLost],

It seems that when the SharpDX crash the performance a incredibly increase for the led in gaming,

Thanks for your help

Config :
