Feature Request: Volume Normaliser

Dear developers,

I was wondering if it is possible to have a plugin that normalises audio volumes. I understand that it is not only difficult to implement it properly, there are also multiple ways of doing it, and might even cause a loss in sound quality if not implemented properly. But would still be a useful feature to have.

Or even have a tab that can display the peak volume or the RMS volume as a column info so that I have the information handy before playing a song

The ReplayGain plugin is meant for this. However, it requires the file to be analysed externally and ReplayGain tags to be added to the file.

I normally use Ex Falso to do this analysis+tagging process, but other taggers probably have similar functionality.
