Bug report

What is the current behavior?

Menu entry "Latex / set main file" doesn’t do anything, if it wasn’t set before.

What is the expected or desired behavior?

The current TeX file should be set as project main file for building.

Please provide steps to reproduce:

Open TeX file, chose "set main file", try to build.

Please describe your environment:

  • TeXlipse version: 2.0.2
  • Eclipse version: 2020-03

Operating system: MacOS Mojave

Feature Request

What is the current behavior?

Every project can just have one main file, to be set in project settings.

What is the expected or desired behavior?

Set the main file dynamically – existing menu entry would be enough, if it would work reliably.

Mark the current main file somehow (in project explorer, in editor tab) and show its name in the status bar.

Please provide use cases for changing the current behavior:

Nearly all of my TeX projects have more than one “main file“ – my projects contain book series, magazine, songbooklets, series of technical and legal documentation, each uses the same building blocks for several main documents (e.g. legal texts, general security warnings, dynamical titling and cover setup). I often work on several of them at the same time.

Other relevant information:

Don’t know if it’s a bug or a missing feature...

EDIT: The menu entry works, if there were main file and output file set in the project settings before, but not if they are empty.
