We can already start working on the paper so that by the time the meta-package is on CRAN (#113), we are ready for submission.

Do we want to wait for datawizard publication before we start with this paper?

Not necessarily.

But, TBH, now that I think about it, I am not sure we are ready to work on this paper yet.

It would be better to first finish working on vignettes on easystats-broom comparison and end-to-end easystats workflow.

I thought about the easystats-broom-comparison a bit, and I'm not sure if this is really a useful vignette. As @vincentarelbundock pointed out here (#104 (comment)), easystats is much more than tidying and glancing at model objects. His posting is helpful for users to better understand the different approaches, and when it may make more sense to use model_parameters() instead of tidy(). But the big whole picture of the easystats project is rather #108 and your first draft of a diagram of the easystats-workflow. If we want to do both, we should prioritise the workflow vignette, showing how users can benefit from easystats in their daily work, starting with reading data, bringing data into shape and create new variables, model and explore, and then produce tables/texts/figures.

Okay, sounds good.

I was already working on the easystats-broom, but I can prioritize working on the other vignette then.

Even if the comparison vignette is not useful for the users, I would still like to work on it. Who knows, given enough content, we can probably publish it as a separate paper somewhere.

Also, the meta-package CRAN release should not wait for any of these things to happen.

"not useful" was probably a bit overstated, but my feeling is that a "broom-easystats" comparison might give the impression that easystats is only a broom-competitor, which the project definitely isn't. That's why I think we should user first show that easystats covers a lot of what is needed in their daily work, and then we show them why they won't miss broom when they switch :-)

I don't know, it feels like publishing easystats should be the crowning achievement after we release 1.0, and I don't think the JOSS format is the best; i think for this paper we should talk and discuss more about the journey, the philosophy, the struggles etc.

I think we can both have a JOSS paper and a "focussed" paper somewhere else (I remember @pdwaggoner contacted me for a special issue, maybe that's still a thing)

We should try to publish the easystats paper here:

https://www.jstatsoft.org/index

Will be difficult, but worth a try.
