One of the reasons the library is not seeing high usage is because it is hard to add to your project.

How about using jitpack:

zero effort was put into making this easy to integrate into your own projects :P doesn't deserve attention but what can you do..

it adds upon the issue you're posing, that there is no easy way to add this library to a project and it seems abandoned so it doesn't deserve attention, but I'm not going to sit here and rewrite because I'm lazy so I take the files manually and include them to test it and I complain to him here :)

@Odaym I've added a pull request for the README to use jitpack it makes it much easier

Honestly I was able to make this run exactly as I needed and to my own use-case which includes 1 type of Item having children of itself, read the source for the adapter and it's very well written and the interface is very flexible once you understand it, really well done..just that way of including it if its better and a little documentation (!!) it would gain a lot more attention. Good luck
