Testnet not syncing on Datacoin 0.15.99.08
Testnet required to do experimentation on Datacoin, and not risk the mainnet.

Can you reliably reproduce the issue?

Yes

If so, please list the steps to reproduce below:

  1. Start a Datacoin -testnet instance with all known peer addresses
  2. Note the lack of peer connection
  3. cry -- lol

screen shot datacoin

Expected behaviour

Testnet should sync

Actual behaviour

Testnet does not sync

Machine specs:

  • OS: Windows 7 & 10
  • CPU: big
  • RAM: bigger
  • Disk size: lots
  • Disk Type (HD/SDD): monster

Datacoin testnet update:

Goodnews:
My 0.15.99.08 testnet on 108.161.137.90 has connected to 185.18.60.157 & 88.98.87.243!

Badnews:
The chain does not advance.
gjhiggins discovered the testnet client is unable to mine via setgenerate true.
I confirmed this on my own clients.

Current assessment:
testnet can connect to some other 0.15.99.08 clients, but not other types of Datacoin clients, and is unable to advance the chain because it cannot mine within the wallet.

Plan:
Request that any capable developer please discover the problem in the code and make the appropriate fixes.
Let me know how I can be off assistance -- and if bounties are required, I'm not opposed -- but to be clear, simply buy a couple hundred dollars worth of Datacoin, make Datacoin awesome, then sell later when people realize how awesome it really is because you made it awesome.

That simple people.

Let's get awesome.

Kind Regards,
The AtomSea
