Prerequisites

• I searched for any existing report about this website issue to avoid opening a duplicate.
• I can reproduce this website issue in a new, unmodified web browser profile with Dark Reader installed as the only extension.

Website Issue Description

SalesForce (a commonly used CRM tool within the charity sector) plays mostly nicely with Dark Reader. However, when you go to send an email through it, the email section is not correctly handled using the Dynamic filter. If you toggle Dark Reader off/on for the site, or change from dark to light mode and back again, the email section is correctly handled.

Steps To Reproduce

1. Use Dark Reader with SalesForce.
2. Use the email function within SalesForce to start composing an email.
3. The text will show as black on a dark background at first.
4. Either toggle Dark Reader off/on or toggle the mode to light then back to dark.
5. The text will then show as white against the dark background.

A minor issue, but might be that Dark Reader is not detecting the email functionality on the page when a user clicks on this, but then does detect it if turned off/on with this open.

@maximus20895 @SleepyCatten I tried using Salesforce, but unfortunately this email function requires lots of setup. Could you please try using Dark Reader's Dev Tools to fix this?

Or at least could you please go to that page, press F12, click arrow icon in the top-left corner and then click that email block? I want to see that markup, it probably includes <iframe> element.

I'm sure it's an iframe, but I really dont know much. I am using Firefox/Floorp if that matters.

When I select the text box, I can then right click the inspector box what do i copy?

Do I copy HTML outer, HTML inner, ect?

Yes, the pictures ect are that I posted were taken when Darkreader was on.

1. Click "Dev Tools" in the bottom-right corner:

2. Press Ctrl+F or Command+F and type "lightning.force.com":

3. You will see INVERT and CSS sections. If you put .cke_wysiwyg_frame under INVERT it should invert the whole frame. CSS is for custom CSS text if you are familiar with it.

4. Click "Apply". Hopefully it will work.

Hah!

It inverted the frame to white , but the text now is also inverted, so it's white. lol.

this gives me some ideas!!!

Maybe adding:

CSS
.cke_wysiwyg_frame {
    background: white !important;
}

will help.

Unfortunately it's hard to give an advice without being able to see it myself. It's unclear why Dark Reader doesn't work in this Iframe. The Computed styles tab should give an idea where the background color of a particular element comes from:

That works but I dont know how.

i'm guessing you said invert everything so everything is white, but then since the background was set to white, it also inverted back to "normal" which is dark?

Yay!!!

I guess it would work if you could just invert the text inside the iframe, but i don't know how to do that :(
