Automatically request sudo if permissions are lacking

It would be great if NotepadNext would automatically ask for sudo permission when I want to edit a file without permission.

I.e. notepadqq is doing this with kdesu or gksu.

Do you think a similar functionality would be possible to implement? This would be absolutely great, as sometimes it can be a bit cumbersome to start NotepadNext with sudo rights.

Possible...yes. Easy.... probably not unless there's a good standalone implementation. Would be nice to have something similar for Windows and Mac. It makes it difficult when it is so OS, or even distro specific.

But as you pointed out other applications are doing it so maybe there is some good references in other open source projects.
