I am currently the closest to interested in Universal Data Tool and the prospect of bringing highlighter into compliance with more universal syntax.

However, their documentation is out of date and I can't tell at a glance if they can support my most important needs (SQLite database for pulling data out and using elsewhere, multicolored highlights) these ways because I'm not quite their target audience.

Shelving the thought for the future at a point where I have the luxury of rewriting the codebase and damn the consequences.
