Csound is a sound and music synthesis system, providing facilities for composition and performance over a wide range of platforms. It is not restricted to any style of music, and has been used for many years in a variety of genres, including classical, pop, techno, and ambient.

Installation and Building

Pre-built binary installers are available for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux and are available from the files section on Sourceforge.

Build instructions for various platforms included with the Csound repository in the BUILD.md file (available online at: https://github.com/csound/csound/blob/develop/BUILD.md.

Coverity Status

Csound uses Coverity to do static analysis on the csound code. You can view the current status in the Coverity Scan project page. If you would like to see a more detailed report you need to ask for access in the developers list.
