I have set the code chunk options to echo = FALSE.

I tried adding - \raggedbottom in the YAML but am unable to get rid of all the extra whitespace.

I solved this issue. Turns out papaja does not like the kableExtra::landscape(margin = c('1cm')) function and leaves an extra space within the document every time a table with this function is printed.
