How to use the notify variables in a bash script

I was wondering how to use the env var passed by ftpgrab to the notify script

I have a configuration that look like this:

notif:
  script:
    cmd: "/data/ftp-sync/notify.sh"

The documentation says that the cmd should receive this kind of variables:

FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[0]_FILE=/test/test_changed/1GB.bin
FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[0]_STATUS=Not included
FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[0]_LEVEL=skip
FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[0]_TEXT=
FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[1]_FILE=/test/test_changed/56a42b12df8d27baa163536e7b10d3c7.png

FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[1]_LEVEL=skip

The brackets [1] seems to not be compatible with the shell scripts.

I see the variable using printenv, but when I try to use it in the script like this:

for (( i=0 ; ; i++ )); do
        FILE_VAR="FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[${i}]_FILE"
        STATUS_VAR="FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[${i}]_STATUS"
        [ "${!FILE_VAR+x}" ] || break
        FILE="${!FILE_VAR}"
        STATUS="${!STATUS_VAR}"
...

I have this kind of error line 10: FTPGRAB_JOURNAL_ENTRIES[0]_FILE: invalid variable name

Am I missing something ? Would you have notify script example ?
