What happened?

Hi, I've been working with nf-core and conda for the past few months, and I recently encountered this error:


ERROR ~ Error executing process > 'NFCORE_SMRNASEQ:MIRNA_QUANT:MIRTOP_QUANT'

Caused by:
  Failed to create Conda environment

I've tried other solutions I found online with similar errors such as #7695, and #9473 just to mention some, but none of them seems to work:

conda clean -i

conda config --remove-key channels
conda config --append channels conda-forge --append channels bioconda --append channels defaults


run command conda clean -i to see if it works first
remove the .condarc file
run command conda config --set show_channel_urls true in anaconda prompt to regenerate the .condarc file and then modify it

Furthermore, the website: https://conda.anaconda.org/conda-base cannot be reached.

Hi @karlaarz,

In your install command, you are specifying the following packages: conda-base::r-base=4.1.1 conda-base::r-data.table=1.14.2. The part before the :: is telling conda to look for a channel called conda-base. As you can see from the errors, this channel clearly doesn't exist.

So, the answer is to figure out where else you could find these packages from. Perhaps you meant conda-forge instead?

Thanks, Travis, for your reply. I asked at the NF-core as I am not sure if I can change it myself.
