First use experience - Routing modes selectable but not working

Describe your problem!

Today I introduced a new user to c:geo.
While doing so I stumbled upon a problem to activate turn-by-turn routing lines.

How to reproduce?

• Install c:geo
• Complete wizard with all basic steps
• Open live map
• Select a cache and set as target from its bottom sheet
• A straight line is shown
• Tap the gear icon on map and select e.g. "Bike"

Actual result after these steps?

c:geo shows "c:geo is recalculating route in background" but nothing happens, the straight line is still shown

Expected result after these steps?

Preferred solution:
c:geo should (automatically) do the needful to enable the selected routing mode

Alternative solution:
Those routing modes should be disabled if the preconditions are not met to use them

Additional Information

I guess the main problem is, that automatic routing tile download is deactivated by default.
Maybe activating this option by default is the solution to this problem?! (untested)

Addition:

• The user can not even easily solve the situation as the setting for "Automatic routing tile download" is hidden in basic setting mode.
• Even after activating that option it seems only to work (i.e. offer download of tiles) after restart of c:geo
• After the tile data has been downloaded it still does not work but seems to need another restart of map or c:geo (?) to finally see a routed line
