from #513

At some point in the near future build tool will likely be compileable with Delphi too (it's low effort).

From a purely Delphi-centric point of view this one see rather important as without it Getit would be better with a binaries folder with this pre-compioled in it. Therefore as it's 'low effort' buld-tool would seem a high-priority target from the Delphi-centric view of things

GetIt will use, and is OK with it from what I know, just a binary release of CGE including CGE editor and CGE build tool.

That's also why the build tool is not yet ported to Delphi. It is low effort, but realistically also little gain.

  • If someone compiles CGE from sources, they need FPC+Lazarus now anyway, for castle-editor, as mentioned in castle-editor for Delphi #516 .

  • If someone takes a binary release, they don't. GetIt can take a binary release, from what I know -- things included in GetIt packages seem to include various tools that likely Embarcadero doesn't recompile by themselves, or even doesn't require to have delivered in source code.

We'll see whether actual GetIt submission will change anything in this regard.

Anyhow, I'm leaving this issue open -- although low priority, as said above. But we'll get to this.
