Missing dependencies

Hi. I am having trouble installing HMMoce on MacOS (Apple silicon -- aarch) with R version 4.3.3. I see that there is a commit in the dev branch titled "[update getCtr to deal with deprecated rgeos dependency," but when I try to install the dev branch using

devtools::install_github('camrinbraun/HMMoce', ref='dev')

I get the message "ERROR: dependencies ‘maptools’, ‘rgeos’ are not available for package ‘HMMoce’". Neither maptools nor rgeos is available for this version of R, apparently.

Is there anything I can try that might help?
