So you have the button for "Check for Updates" right?

How do know if any plug-in received an update? If you click the "Check for updates" button, nothing really happens. 😞

+1.

I’d be curious to know what’s going on under the hood when this button is hit. Perhaps a progress bar or summary of the changes it’s made would be helpful?

I had to reinstall a plugin in order to get an update, I am also not notified when a plugin has an update!

I don't think the update working at the moment. I have to uninstall/install two plugins today: sketch-measure and content generator sketch plugin.

The site says "Automatically keeps all those plugins up to date" which is not happening in my case. I'm also doing reinstalls to get updates, though I'm sure I frequently miss updates that are available since they're not obvious.

+1 I don't see how the plugins are updated.

I'm starting to think that the developers don't work on this anymore... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They don't seem to be. The question is how to move forward. Does anyone want to take charge on forking and maintaining this?

If I knew anything beyond HTML and CSS I would haha 😄

Plugin update doesn't work on my site; either automatically or trough the update button. I have to uninstall/reinstall to get updates.

There are forks by @nana280488752, @almonk, @zutrinken, @asa1230, @nolastan, and @qinyuhang. This tool is very important because it gives Sketch the kind of plugin installation and update functionality designers need. Is anyone willing to work on it in some sort of designated, main repository? Right now there's a lot of duplication of effort happening across forks.

@buzzfeed any plans to continue developing this? Accept PRs? If not, we (we being the general community) need to put this somewhere else and treat it well.

@sdaitzman, I couldn't agree more. This plugin manager is wonderful and needs a lot of work done to make it perfect. I've started designing a new mac app ui to bring it to El Capitan, but the backend still needs a lot of work.

Wondering if we could get some folks together to hammer something out with @buzzfeed approval.

I believe this plugin was created by @shahruz so I want to make sure they know about this conversation, along with the @BohemianCoding team! Best-case scenario: either the creators of Sketch, the creator of this or someone else swoops in and saves this from the dustbin of Old GitHub.

Would be great to have the plugin just roll into Sketch, as an in-app plugin manager. I'm wondering if @BohemianCoding are already working on something like that and that is why this project has slowed down on development.

Wish I could help. I only could do some UI design but @spenserwolz seems to be doing that already. I've never designed a Mac app but I'm sure I could read up on guidelines.

#66 is very relevant 😄
