Pt_archiver has a --file option that enables you to save the deleted records to a text file. It would be great if you could incorporate that into cleansweep, and even better yet if the text file could be automatically compressed (optionally).

That's a good thought. Not sure when I'll look into it but if you want to submit a PR I'm all in favor.
