Describe the bug
Resolution gets ignored by running instances no matter what. On windows I have a 4k monitor and I'm stuck with running minecraft at that resolution even if I'd love to have the old times' vibes with my crappy monitor's resolution.

To Reproduce
Just edit the resolution in your instance and run it. Whenever you resize or fullscreen the game, the resolution will be changed to that of your screen

Expected behavior
I expect the game to be upscaled to my screen's res

Desktop:

  • OS+version: Windows11
  • Launcher version: v1.09_16
  • Processor architecture: arm64

What game version are you trying this on? Can't reproduce with b1.7.3.

This happens on b1.7.3 and both on my laptop and my pc.
I didn't try on linux if this still happens but I'd prefer if it worked on windows by itself

My point is that the game dynamically changes resolution based on the screen without considering Dpi and since i have an HiDPI laptop i'd rather play at 1080p scaled up rather than playing minecraft in 4k. The issue is that dpi is not taken into consideration.
