Meaning field stays empty when Google Translate should be used

I usually could get the translations from Google with the pinyin toolkit, but now whenever I add an expression which is not in the local dictionary, the meaning field stays empty.
The log doesn't show any related errors.
I can still get the translations for words in the local dictionary.
Anki Version 1.2.8, pinyin toolkit 0.6.6
