When an Internet connection is shared through NetworkManager and its "ipv4/ipv6.method=shared" connection profile property, a dnsmasq instance is spawned by NetworkManager for providing DHCP functionality to client devices using the Internet connection. If specific IP addresses have to be reserved for some of the client devices, that usually can be done through adding a dnsmasq configuration snippet in /etc/NetworkManager/dnsmasq-shared.d/, e.g. dhcp-host=11:22:33:44:55:66,camera1,10.10.1.50. Under balenaOS that location is currently unavailable for writing and thus dnsmasq configuration snippets for the shared Internet connection cannot be added.
