Just looking at the Webform project with the eyes of a beginner and find the two releases listed there to be confusing.

If I understand correctly, the number scheme was adjusted at some point from 1.x.x to 4.x.x to match the Drupal module. This makes it appear as if the 4.x.x version is significantly different from 1.x.x version.

Again, I understand correctly - this isn't necessarily true. A new user should always download the 4.x.x branch and it should be possible to update the 1.6.2 version to the most recent version of the 4.x.x branch.

See release notes: https://github.com/backdrop-contrib/webform/releases/tag/1.x-4.16.0

I assume, that there is no good reason to have the 1.6.2 version visible other than removing it would require some change in how b.org manages versions (Or some special case exception for this project).

I recommend that we only show the most current version of Webform module here: https://backdropcms.org/project/webform

But failing that, can we just add a brief explanation to the README file?

I submitted a PR with possible text to help explain the situation. Feel free to edit and revise any way you choose. Just wanted to help get this started.

I think that this could be confusing to new users.

It's better to unpublish the 1.x.x releases. I just tried that in backdropcms.org. Once I unpublished all of them it now shows the very oldest 1.x-1.1.1 release even though I had unpublished that one too. Maybe I have to delete them?
