We are using the storelocator package in a responsive design which requires widths to be specified as percentages. The width parameter for the map has px assumed in the package code. It would be best to remove px if a percentage is specified in the parameter.

Obviously you know where in code "px" are present, remove them.
The most common using the maps is constant width and height.
And because in storelocator zoom doesn't automatically.
Hardly to determine(setup) best zoom level then the width is unknown.
