creating aligned timeseries on a schema template

hello all,
a newbie question:
Is it possibile to create aligned timeseries based on a template?
The statement:
CREATE ALIGNED TIMESERIES of schema template on root.mydb.mydevice
returns the error:
Msg: 700: Error occurred while parsing SQL to physical plan: line 1:26 mismatched input 'of' expecting ROOT

the template has already been assigned to the whole database.
