Sure, why not? If your chat server like rocket.chat is in your local net, this is no problem.

im see this plugin https://github.com/tigergm/redmine_layim
but its not compatible with redmine 5
-->Prepare your messenger service
I CANT install any from these chat server (Slack, Mattermost,Discord, Rocket.Chat)
can u find solution the plugin itsself work as chat server
i need only members in my redmine in my local network chat
like admin team with another groups i dont need internet connection
