Back in 2014 Bob expanded the way overlayed symbols worked (at least in APRSdoc). It would be nice if Xastir supported these new symbols in the code and then we could work on the artwork.

I'm envisioning the code looking for an alt-symbol's artwork and if it doesn't exist just display the symbol with the text overlay as it does today.
