Bug Report: Shortcut Conflict Between Memex and Another Extension in Edge

  1. Detailed Problem Description

    • The issue arises when using the Memex extension alongside another extension in Microsoft Edge. Both extensions use the "m" shortcut for functions related to the address bar. This shortcut conflict prevents me from using the preferred functionality of the other extension without disabling Memex, which I do not wish to do. This situation affects my workflow, as I rely on the address bar shortcuts for efficient navigation and task completion.
  2. Steps to Replicate the Issue

    1. Open Microsoft Edge browser.
    2. Navigate to edge://settings/searchEngines.
    3. Scroll to the "Extensions" section at the bottom of the page.
    4. Right-click the three dots (ellipsis) next to the entry for Memex.
    5. Attempt to select "Turn off" the shortcut.
  3. Expected Behavior

    • Ideally, I would be able to change the shortcut for Memex or disable it without disabling the whole extension. A potential solution could be the implementation of customizable or alternative shortcut options for Memex's functions, thus preventing overlap with other extensions. Maybe "ms" for Memex Search?

Technical Details:

  • Browser: Microsoft Edge, Version 122.0.2365.92 (Official build) (64-bit)
  • Operating System: Windows 11, Business Version 23H2, build 22631.3296
  • Extension Version: Memex Version 3.17.0
