Proguard rule question for retrofit

In the SDK, there is no retrofit in the dependencies list.

However, in the documentation, there are proguard rules for it added:

-keep class retrofit.** { *; }
-keepclassmembernames interface * {
    @retrofit.http.* <methods>;
}

May I check if this is still necessary?
