[1.20.1 Forge] randomTick Tau Fruit Growth Does Not Damage Entities or Convert to Saturated Tau #2001

Issue Description:

When Tau Fruit grows naturally via randomTick events, the growth events do not damage entities or transform the plant from Standard Tau to Saturated Tau. When grown with bonemeal the plant damages entities and transforms as expected.

What happens:

Tau Fruit grown naturally without bonemeal does not damage entities or transform to Saturated Tau.

What you expected to happen:

Tau Fruit should damage entities and transform to Saturated Tau regardless of type of growth event.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new world.
  2. Plant a Tau Fruit on farmland near a water source block.
  3. Surround the Tau Fruit with fences.
  4. Spawn a cow inside the perimeter of the fences, on top of the Tau plant.
  5. /gamerule randomTickSpeed 1000 to speed up growth.
  6. Observe the cow not getting damaged as the plant grows, and no transformation taking place.
  7. Observe that using bonemeal to grow the Tau Fruit behaves as expected.

  • BloodMagic: 1.20.1-3.3.2-44
  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Forge: 47.1.30
