Users currently have to manually indicate the threshold for similarity scores. It will be difficult for the users to set the threshold themselves as they are unsure of what number to set and how the number affects the plagiarism detection output.

Suggested Solution

Allow for automated or semi-automated threshold setting as a default so that users can use the value as a guide and change it if necessary.

Tasks

• Research on how to automatically set threshold OR find ideal threshold to set for all instances.
• Verify that automated threshold setting or fixed threshold level provides accurate plagiarism detection.

Acceptance Criteria

Show adequate research for automated threshold setting OR adequate research to show that a certain fixed threshold is acceptable.
Implement automated threshold setting or fixed threshold. Verify that users do not have to set threshold manually. Ensure that plagiarism detection output is correct.

@mengyewgau Could this be included into #319 as well by adding manual threshold setting for the web interface? Maybe there can be some additional explanation regarding recommended thresholds, but that requires more discussions/ input from the team
