It's the VSCode's id. I've found it in one of the issues. There was part of the instruction above but with the wrong scope. I had to reverse the extension a little because it reverted without a clear error log 🥲 |

This is great, and works perfectly for connecting VS Codium without the need to do anything in VS Code. I did this on Windows myself and initially had an issue in both Command Prompt & Powershell with curl errors. Ended up resolving that problem by simply using the MINGW64 based |

Can't say anything without the actual error. You can try to debug VSCodium though (run it with the --inspect-extension flag and use chrome://inspect) |

This worked on my Linux laptop, much love. I was just wondering why on the Windows Binary for VSCodium the "official" login for GitHub Copilot works on my end? Is there some f*ckery because it is a Windows machine and Windows authenticates me anyway like that? |

Yeah it unfortunately makes it very cumbersome, even if you get the access token in one command via a script it's still annoying Edit : That's probably on me, I'm on i3 and din't have a keychain installed, using gnome-keyring it stays logged in even when restarting. |

AFAIR - Log out and Log back in to Copilot and it should prompt you - that's where you put the access token. |

Works on Linux Mint, using VSCodium installed from the Ubuntu repository. Thanks @ustas-eth ! SnapIn case anyone installed VSCodium using Snap, you'll need to use a workaround like described here, to edit Rather than doing that I just reinstalled from the VSCodium Ubuntu repository instead. Possible edits to original post@ustas-eth perhaps to clarify step 6 a bit further, As below:

Isn't that fixed with the later versions ? I removed the flatpak version (bunch of complications coming from the isolation) and reinstalled the version from the AUR (1.81.1) and I just had to copy a code given via a modal by vscodium into a github page and it connected fine. |

I just experienced the same as @StitiFatah after installing Copilot from the vsix file, on macOS Ventura 13.6.1! The extension did all the authentication work and I just had to copy a code. I'm running Codium 1.84.2, if that's relevant. |

Works perfect, thank you so much! For me the extension would pop open the github site but it would make me create a personal access token instead ("ghp_ ...") of the oauth one ("gho_ ...") and it wouldnt work. |

It's worth mentioning that on Windows, I found my
...and in WSL (Debian), I found it at:
Additionally, I had already botched an existing login by deleting a token that wasn't working, and I couldn't find either the icon in the bottom left as mentioned on multiple pages, nor anything relevant in the command palette, or in any files. Turns out the icon is in the same vertical pane as files, etc., which I had moved to the right side of my editor. I figured I'd add this in case it helps anyone else. The icon looks like this:
Interestingly, when I went to correct this (after updating VSCodium to Hopefully, the information above helps someone else. 😊 |

This guide still works! Just had to manually install Github.copilot extension and then add the required permission as mentioned in step2. And then I opened vscodium and clicked github copilot icon and it authorized automatically. No need to do steps 3 to 7 manually. |

It seems that this doesn't work anymore, It worked in the bast by my VSCodium seemed to be corrupt and I updated, now, I am trying to make it work. Copilot doesn't work at all now. Update: Just checked, and in fact, it actually doesn't work anymore with the latest Update. We need to find a new fix. |
