In A Deeper Look at Git we talk about reseting history, changing it and we talk about best practices of git.
What we don't talk about is how to explore our git commit history, A honorable mention of
git checkout "commit id"could get in handy of reviewing commit history and if we want to explore the code at specific time of history. A mention togit log --onelinecan help with this as well to find all the commit history breifly to choose the target ofgit checkout.For people that are going purely with TOP as learning platform they might have thought
git checkoutonly applies to branches, it can be helpful to realize they can use it on commit IDs aswell, I used it many times the first time i learnt about it, I myself wished i knew it sooner.The only place where i found a mention of it while googling is in Node Deployment section briefly mentions it with no explanation or details, can be found directly above the assignment. https://www.theodinproject.com/lessons/nodejs-deployment#assignment
