Sonic Chronicles Freezes during tutorial

Upon getting POW upgrades for the first time, a video will play showing off how to use those new abilities, at a certain point everything freezes without fail. I have followed the guide on attempting to fix this issue with no success, previous videos within the game work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Get ready to hear a lot of advice repeated from the guide because you didn't show anyone what guide is.
Also disable the dynamic recompiler.
Or use desmume 0.9.11. People have routinely got further than this point.

Hey I'm having this problem too. its freezeing in the same spot as OP. I'm on ver 0.9.13

Same problem, same advice. There are no updates for anyone. Although I now have a hazy memory of someone telling me that this game had been discovered to be a bad dump, I think? Ask the internet for more information
